Arant Haw and Winder

Starting point: Joss Lane car park, Sedbergh  (SD 659922)  Distance: 7 miles  Ascent: 1900'

A walk on the Howgill Fells with members of The Wainwright Society climbing Arant Haw and Winder

Route: From Joss Lane car park reach the fell via a lane and track and ascend Settlebeck Gill to join a path leading to the summit of Arant Haw (1985').  Retrace steps to the saddle and a short ascent to Winder where there is a cairn and trig point.  Head south west down the fell to a wall and turn left leading downhill.  Cross a narrow beck and slant downhill through bracken to Lockbank Farm.  Pass through the farm to the road leading back to Sedbergh.
