Starting point: Pull-in by the
entrance to Burthwaite Farm

A walk to the summit of Ling Fell described by Wainwright as 'an isolated rounded hill on the northwest perimeter of Lakeland.' Ling Fell p. 2. Route: From the road head west along the Corpse Road leading up past disused shooting butts to the summit where the Skiddaw range is prominent. Descend by a narrow path with views of Sale Fell to the northeast. A track leads back to the starting point.
