The Newlands Round

Starting point: Chapel Bridge, Little Town  (NY 231194)  Distance: 8.7 miles  Ascent: 3052'

A classic horseshoe walk around the Newlands valley.

Route: From Little Town, climb up to Hause Gate and the start of the ridge walk taking in Maiden Moor and High Spy before dropping down to Dale Head Tarn.  From here there is a stiff climb to the summit of Dale Head with its classic view down the Newlands valley.  From here traverse Hindscarth Edge before turning north to cross the summit of Hindscarth before the long descent over Scope End and along the old mine road back to the starting point.

All of the views are fantastic but my favourite was Beattie cooling her paws!
