Starting point: Jubilee Bridge in
Eskdale
(NY 213011) Distance: 3.4 miles Ascent: 1854'
An ascent of Harter Fell in Eskdale.
AW says of this ascent, ' Harter Fell's grand rocky pyramid gives an
air of real mountaineering to this climb ...' This walk makes
a fine companion to the ascent of Hard Knott. There are
glorious views of upper Eskdale, particularly on the descent.
Route: Park at Jubilee Bridge in
Eskdale and follow the bridleway uphill. At the second gate in
the wall head up the fell following the bridleway for a short
distance before finding a cairned path leading to the summit.
Use the same route for descent.
