Home page Beattie on Low Fell

The Loweswater fells

Starting point: Lay-by near Fangs  (NY 105226)  Distance: 7.26 miles  Ascent: 2079'

This pleasant walk took in three of the Loweswater fells, namely, Burnbank Fell, Blake Fell and Gavel Fell.

Route: AW's route on to Burnbank Fell starting at Fangs rather than Waterend.  Ascend Burnbank Fell and follow the ridge over Blake Fell and on to Gavel Fell.  Here turn down the fell following the fence line NE to pick up the bridleway back to Fangs along the Loweswater terrace offering delightful views of Loweswater and the north western fells beyond.
